Rates of teenage pregnancy in Singapore had been increasing (from over 700 cases in 2003 to more than 800 today) despite measures taken by the government to educate teens about the implications of engaging in teenage pregnancy such as sex education lessons and talks. Another worrying trend that we found was how the number of teens that contracted sexually transmitted dieseases had quadrupled from a low of slightly above 200 in the late 1990s to more than 800 today despite increasing media publicity on the dire consequences of contracting such dieseases.
